The sunny south of Provence and Cote d'Azur combine sun and snow and are among the most popular of France's regions with the villa holidaymakers. The beaches of Antibes, Cannes, Nice, and Juan les Pins may be trodden by the rich but are equally welcoming to families on a budget. Barely 50 kilometres away in the Alps Maritime one can be hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing in spectacular scenery.
Aquitaine's top resorts, Biarritz and Bayonne, share the general year-round warmth that Mediterranean France offers along with diving, snorkelling, sailing and, at chic Biarritz, surfing. Popular golf destinations are in the Loire Valley, Burgundy and Pas de Calais and, with the game not massively favoured by the French, the courses tend to be relaxed and uncrowded.
On the Atlantic coast, Brittany is rugged and rocky but interspersed with fine beaches, such as Val Andre, Etables, St Quay and Perros-Guirec. Similarly the Normandy coast has many coves and inlets for families to explore but best-known would be the wide sands of Mont Saint Michel with its impressive fortress out in the bay. Commemorating Normandy's war past are the Bayeux Museum with its Battle of Hastings tapestry and museums at Arromanches and Caen commemorating the D-Day Landings.
Sights such as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, the Louvre gallery and the
River Seine have made Paris the most visited European capital but they represent
only a handful of ways to enjoy the city.
It boasts something for everyone with variety such as Disneyland Paris and many local markets.

Boats from 15 different clubs sail along the coast from Nice to Cavalaire, join the Regatta. Find a spot on the beach to watch or when you are there arrange to hire a boat and catch all the boating action from the water.
